"Favorite spot in Costa Rica"

I have been to Costa Rica five times, three times to Santa Teresa/Mal Pais and second time to Surf Vista Villas. Andy's spot is the best! Our favorite room is the Sunset Reef as it top floor, great view, has kitchen in the room. Need a vehicle (not walk or bike) to get up the hill. Playa Santa Teresa and Hermosa are two of the best beaches in the world. Tide pool near by. Cook your own fish. Sunsets and incoming storms are amazing to watch come in. We've been to SVV twice and will be back again!

"Beautifull place"

Great, cool original spot with great view. Spacious room, nicely furnished and very friendly People. We rented surfboards for 10 dollar and snorkel gear for 3 dollar per Day. Andy was a great host, very helpfull and relaxed. You do need transport to get up and down the hill. We recommend It!

"We loved this place!"

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. We got good surf, great food and an amazing place to stay. We stayed in both the top and bottom and I'd say the top is worth the extra money but the bottom is still awesome. The view was cool and it was actually nice being up in the trees and a little away from the town. You do need an ATV or car but the walk from the beach up the hill to the villas is 9mins…so not far but decent incline. Surf out the front is really good. Andy was super helpful and we met great people in the other villas. Definitely recommend you stay there … I would definitely stay here again if I head back to Santa Teresa.

"The best property on Santa Teresa"

This is my second time staying at Surf Vista Villa and I can't say enough about it. The pictures really does it no justice. The place is huge and we had a group of 11 of us that stayed there and it was perfect. The staff, the animals and the owner Andy is so nice and accommodates you in every way possible. The rooms are clean and you can go out into the yard and pick fresh herbs. Its weird to admit this, but now that I am back in the states, I miss driving up and down that mountain to get to the house. The house is secluded and the views are amazing! I cant thank Andy enough for such a great piece of paradise!!! I cant wait to go back there again and experience more of Santa Teresa and surf vista villa!

"We will be back!"

Our March, 2015 week-long stay at Surf Vista Villas in Santa Teresa was everything we hoped for and more. Our upstairs villa, with it's huge balconies, deck swings and hammocks overlooking the jungle and the ocean, tons of natural light, windows and doors, was paradise. The villa was clean, comfortable, with AC available (we didn't use it at all), a kitchen area complete with Costa Rican coffee maker (yum), and the most spectacular sunset view. Howler monkeys inhabit the surrounding trees and the birds! An ornithologists paradise. Bring your binoculars. Waking to the aroma of tropical flowers from the gardens was blissful.

The villa is at the very top of a huge, steep hill, so bring your sneakers if you want to walk it (you'll sweat like crazy, but a super fun challenge), otherwise, rent an ATV from Andy or an SUV from a local rental place. I had my reservations, but the ATV is truly the best way to get around the area, including to nearby parks, beaches, restaurants, groceries, etc., although many places are walkable, too. We did tons of exploring.

Santa Teresa was perfect. Relaxed, great sandy beaches, safe, friendly, and not super touristy. Great local food.

Andy was extremely helpful in is prompt responses, assistance with setting up any activities we were interested in checking out, and is just a super cool host who has created a lovely eco-friendly, aesthetically lovely space for his guests.

We plan on returning and on spreading the word about this wonderful experience.

"Amazing location, beautiful villas and sunsets!"

I travelled here with 3 other friends. One couple and 2 singles. We stayed in a villa that had 3 queen sized beds in one big open room. The inside of the villas were clean, cozy and comfortable. But we spent very little time inside. The highlight of this place is he massive deck where the kitchen and dining table are located. A big chill out area with swinging hammock chairs is where we spent most of our time at home. Being situated on the top of a hill, we enjoyed beautiful views and stunning sun sets. Andy and his staff are so friendly and we also got along great with our neighbours! It was so peaceful and relaxing here, we all found it incredibly hard to leave! I would absolutely recommend this place and hope to come back again for a visit!

"Loved this place"

The lady and I were very happy that we stayed here. I'm sure as a lot of people have said, the views/sunsets are b-e-a-utiful. I don't know how many places in the Nicoloya could have it beat. I'd highly recommend a car or ATV while staying here (it's probably a must). If you're thinking you don't want to stay here because of that think twice, the views/seclusion make it worth it. Rooms are modest but they are large, have amazing patios, and all are very reasonably priced. Overall surf vista villas made our vacation, I'd love to make it back sometime.

"Perfect Honeymoon"

We went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon with the intention of surfing every day. We decided to book with Andy for 2 weeks in a leap of faith, and we're so glad we did! The villa is up above all the noise of the road, making it an absolute heaven for afternoon siestas in the hammock. Andy had a variety of good surfboards and answered all our questions. Having a kitchen suited our needs perfectly and we found the grocery stores in the area to be of good quality...lots of fresh fruit for breakfast. The best part was hearing monkeys in the morning and watching them from bed (yes, we could see them in the tree from our bed!). in fact, we saw more wildlife from our villa than on any hike we did. No hesitations in recommending Surf Vista Villas to anyone.
